- Neuralgic (nerve) pains better from pressure and heat.
- Pains of iris and glaucoma (hardness of eyeball leading to blindness), when they extend to the head and are better by pressure.
- Sciatica: Shooting pain, lightning-like shocks, down the whole left lower extremity, left hip, left thigh, left knee into popliteal fossa (depression, on thigh bone near knee); crampy pain in hip, as though screwed in a vice; lies upon the affected side; better from heat and pressure.

Homeopathic;
Colocynth was used as a drastic purgative (laxative in effect )in allopathic practice. Colocynthis should be compared to Bryonia as they both have the same general features. It is especially suited to irritable persons who are easily angered and suffer ill effects from them.
Pain in muscles, nerves and joints, gastroenteric disturbance and the same condition in regard to rheumatic joints, worse by movement. Great irritability and ailments from mental emotion, though the latter feature is more marked in Colocynthis.
Colocynthis is useful in acute disorders of digestive tract and intestines. It develops most of its symptoms in the abdomen and head, causing intense neuralgias. Neuralgic pains are cutting, pinching, clamping, gnawing or boring. Neuralgic pains followed by numbness which is better by pressure.It has a long last action on the nerves esp tri-facial sciatic and spincal nerves.
Colocynthis is suited to Diabetics who suffer cloudy milky urine, perspiration may also smell like it. Bitter taste in mouth with strong aversion to food. Easily intoxicated by stimulants , averse to fruits or cold items

Face/Head: The colocynthis patient is irritable, impatient, angered and offended by humiliation, aggravated by question. Children are worst when reprimanded. Restless with suppressed rage. Pain & twitching in eyelids, recho in ears . Cheeks cold , dealthly pale cheeks. Sweats at night, depressed & joyless by nature
Stomach/Digestive: Suffers abdominal cramps with cutting , colicky pain. Intestine feels squeezed. Appetite is oor but may vary, aversion to food in genera. Food & drink taste bitter. Drinks much without thirst, has burning pain in stomach
The colocynthis patient is chilly, sensitive to cold and damp weather esp cold wind. Better in heat, affections on the left side . Women patients feel sharp pain during menses
